Hickory is a hard and resilient wood with good mechanical resistance. Its natural properties help absorb some of the vibrations generated when striking drums and cymbals. Such sticks are suitable for players who prefer a softer dynamic, sensitive response, and comfortable handling. When playing the drums, they allow for precise control of subtle strokes, rhythmic embellishments, ghost notes, and cymbal articulation. However, the choice of drumsticks is individual. Technique, hand size, preferred music style, and personal feel while playing all play an important role. Wooden tip – natural sound of drums and cymbals Model Goodwood 7A GW7AW is equipped with with a wooden tip, which provides natural articulation when playing drumheads and cymbals. Wooden tips are popular for their organic sound character. When playing the ride cymbal, they help produce a natural tone, and when playing the snare drum or toms, they provide the classic response of wooden drumsticks. Compared to nylon tips, the sound of a wooden tip on cymbals can be less sharp and more natural. However, the resulting character also depends on the shape of the tip, the cymbal used, and the drummer's technique. Suitable for jazz, pop, blues, and acoustic playing Goodwood American Hickory 7A they are especially suitable for musicians who play with a gentler dynamic and prefer precise control over each stroke. Jazz and softer music The slimmer 7A profile is popular in jazz, where sensitive dynamics, precise articulation, and attention to subtle rhythmic details are essential. Acoustic concerts When playing in smaller spaces, 7A drumsticks can help you better control the volume and dynamics of your drums.
