Chinese Meditation Balls (Baoding Balls) Dragon & Phoenix White 4 cm

Baoding Balls (Dragon & Phoenix White 4cm) are also known as "Chinese health balls," "Chinese meditation balls," or "exercise balls." Baoding, a city in China, is famous for producing these small, ringing balls, which are here referred to as Jiànshen qiú. This means "balls for physical health". Their use has been documented since the 14th century during the Chinese Ming dynasty. In the past, nuts and fruit were used. Later, these balls also had a spiritual effect. Now they are made of stone or metal and the spiritual belief persists: if you let both sound balls rotate in your hand, the female yin and male yang should harmonize according to Taoist doctrine. According to traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), numerous acupressure points on the hand are stimulated by rotational movements. Additionally, it is believed that exercising with Baoding balls promotes fine motor skills of the fingers and thus promises relief even in cases of arthritis of the hands and finger joints. For lovers of sound, however, not only is the therapeutic use interesting but also the musical aspect. Our Baoding balls consist of a hollow chrome steel ball, inside which is a spring and a small freely movable steel marble. Rotation creates delicate, meditative tones, the intensity of which can be increased by sharp movements and shaking. svetbubnov.sk · Chinese meditation balls
