Baoding Balls - Chinese Meditation Balls - Yin Yang Tai Chi Black - 4cm

The Baoding black balls (Yin Yang Tai Chi black 4cm)  are also known as "Chinese health balls", "Chinese meditation balls" or "exercise balls". Baoding, a city in northern China, is famous for making small, resonant balls, which are locally called Jiànshen qiú. In translation, it means "balls for physical health" and their use is documented since the 14th century during the Chinese Ming Dynasty. In the past, people used nuts and fruit to train their skills. Later, the balls also had a spiritual effect. Now they are made of stone or metal and the spiritual belief is maintained: if you let both sound balls rotate in your hand, the female yin and male yang should harmonize according to Taoist doctrine. According to traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), numerous acupressure points in the hand are stimulated by rotational movements. Furthermore, it is believed that exercising with Baoding balls promotes fine motor skills of the fingers and thus promises relief even in case of hand osteoarthritis and finger joint disorders. For sound lovers, however, not only haptic use is interesting but also the musical one of course. Our Baoding balls consist of a hollow chrome-plated steel ball, inside which is enclosed a spring and a small freely movable steel marble. The rotation creates gentle, meditative tones whose intensity can be increased by vigorous movements and shaking. Therefore, sound balls are best suited as instruments with sound effects and shakers.svetbubnov.sk · Chinese meditation balls
