What material is the handpan made of?

Commonly in this price range, you will find only handpans made of nitrided steel, which have a shorter resonance than the stainless steel used in our handpan.

We didn't want to save money in the "wrong" place and compromise on sound quality. And on top of that, the thickness of the steel is 1.2 mm.

How is our handpan made?

Firstly, two mechanically pre-formed semi-shells in the shape of a wok are firmly joined. Then the tone fields are hammered into the material with experienced tools in precise craftsmanship. Once the "rough structure" is in place, the individual tones are tuned.  To protect the hand pan securely, it is surrounded by a protective ring of robust rubber with a decorative jute rope.

Handling and care of the handpan

Even though a padded bag is included in the delivery, as with other musical instruments, we recommend that you handle the handpan very carefully. In addition, it won't hurt if you clean the surface every now and then with a soft cloth or treat it gently with a little cleaning agent, which you can find in our range. And the rubber ring will appreciate occasional spraying with rubber care (e.g., silicone oil).
