The central bass note (ding) is tuned to D3. And the chorus around it consists of the tones A3, C4, E4, G4, C5, A4, F4,D4, Bb3 (As3).

What material is the handpan made of?

In this price range, you would typically find handpans made of nitrided steel, which has a shorter resonance than the stainless steel used in our handpan.

We didn't want to save money in the "wrong" place and compromise on sound quality. Moreover, the thickness of the steel is 1.2 mm.

How is our handpan made?

Firstly, two mechanically pre-shaped semi-shells in the shape of a wok are firmly joined together. Then the tone fields are beaten into the material with skilled tools in precise craft processing. Once the "rough structure" is in place, the individual tones are tuned.  To ensure the handpan is safely protected, it is surrounded by a protective ring of sturdy rubber which has a decorative jute rope on it.

Handling and care of the handpan

Despite the fact that a padded bag is included in the delivery, as with other musical instruments, we recommend handling the handpan very carefully. Additionally, it won't hurt if you clean the surface every now and then with a soft cloth or carefully treat it with a bit of cleaning agent that you can find in our offer. And the rubber ring will appreciate occasional spraying with rubber care (e.g., silicone oil).
